Education Sessions & Youth Issues

Returning to school means returning to a routine, and we all know how difficult that can be. Especially if that routine is going to disrupt your sleeping pattern.

If you’re one of those people struggling with your sleep schedule, due to those late summer nights, then you might be in dire need of these tips!

First of all, allow yourself some time to wind down in the evening before going to bed. Take some time for yourself to just relax. Try to reduce screen time and put your phone away about half an hour before you plan to go to sleep.

To take it a step further, try meditating or doing some yoga to relax your mind and slow down your breathing, making it easier to fall asleep. If you’ve never tried anything like this before, perhaps bring it to your post as an idea for an education session! Have a local instructor teach a meditation or yoga session! It would be lots of fun! If there isn’t anyone available to teach, Youtube has lots of great tutorials!

If you find yourself continuously slamming the snooze button in the morning, you might be needing a little morning “pick-me-up.” I suggest putting your alarm clock in a place where you have to get up in order to shut it off. Then, once it awakes you, you’ll be forced to get out of bed. Turn the alarm off! Don’t hit that snooze button! Go straight to the kitchen and get yourself a glass of water with some lemon juice. It’ll be sure to wake you up and kick off your day with a boost to your metabolism right away! Good luck 🙂
